We took a picture today in front of the school of all four of us. I just thought you would like to see a fun picture of everyone!

Christmas!
One of my duties as a head teacher is decorating the reception area and bulletin board monthly. This month I thought I did a pretty good job. On the bulletin board the kids are all wearing Santa hats and I was going to make me Santa Clause and the other teachers reindeer but I haven't done it yet and we are going home next week so it is too late now. I am glad that I was able to decorate a little bit for Christmas!

Cold, Cold and Colder...
The weather here is so weird! It is really hot in the day and freezing at night! Well here in Mexico they don't have heating in there houses so we have to make due. It was so cold one night that I got in between two mattress pads and then put two blankets on me. I was still cold so Nicole started putting clothes on me to keep me warm. This was the warmest I have even been and I slept great! I just look like a pile of crap!

Thanksgiving!!
This year for Thanksgiving we invited all of the people we were thankful for to our Thanksgiving dinner. We had around 30 people come. It was a lot of fun to see everyone there. The food was pretty good but not nearly as good as the food we have at home! The turkey looked more like a ham than anything, and the stuffing was so saltly I couldn't even eat it. The potatoes turned out pretty good and of course the one time I make good gravy is now. The rolls were the biggest hit and they were gone first! It was fun to just hang out and it made the day of cooking worth it! Here are some pictures to show all of the fun we had. I have lots more pictures but it takes forever to load them and so this will have to do!
Of course we have us preparing the food! I got up around 8 and started the preparations! Everyone was a huge help and I know it wouldn't have gotten done without them!
A couple pictures of those that showed up! We had all of the kids eating in the hall while all of the adults were shoved into the opening room of the school!
And of course we have the finished food! We had a tossed salad, fruit salad, green beans, potates and gravy, rolls, stuffing and turkey(ham). To finish it off we had lots of pie! Pumpkin, strawberry, banana cream, and apple! I totally thought that the pie was the best part of the meal!
I can't wait until next Thanksgiving where I will be home and the food will taste right and I can help make the whole meal!

Thanksgiving Pies!
In preperation for the Thanksgiving we were going to have early (Nov 22 to be exact) we had to make pies. We ended up making 11 pies and I didn't even get pictures of the final product. We had tons of fun making them. We used my Grandma's amazing pie recipe so these pictures are for her.
When I was little I would help my Grandma make pie! She always gave us a piece of crust that we could do whatever we wanted with! Here is Rebecca and Tony playing with their piece of dough they snatched!

Oaxaca Temple
While we were in Oaxaca we were able to go do baptisms for the dead. It was an amazing experience to do that in a different country. It was all in Spanish and really fun to listen to!

Halloween with the Students
Alison taught the drama lesson for Halloween so all of the kids got dressed up and went trick-or-treating to the other classes. It was fun to see all of our kids dressed up and enjoying Halloween!

Halloween!
Sorry some of the pictures are sideways but I can't change them on this computer. This is what we dressed up as on Wednesday for the kids. Because we had vacation over Halloween we did it with the kids early. Also, I was not able to get the rest of the stuff for my costume so this had to do. I guess I would have scared the kids more. I mean me wearing spandex would just scare the crap out of me! So here I am with the Nacho Libre mask and cape! Hope you all enjoy.

Facials
One of the host moms does facials so we decided to go get one done. She has one of those cool machines that you put your face in and it shows you what was under the skin. I had been real sick the weekend before and I was positive it was going to say I was dehydrated! I was wrong! I just had lots of freckles a few dry spots and some big pores. It was really cool to look at! Afterwards we put all the creams on and she insisted that we put makeup on. Well lets just say her lipstick choices were very slim and she said we had to wear one. So I picked bright red. Not the best color for me!

Pictures Can Not Express The Beauty!
Part of teaching here is doing home visits with the children. This consists of us going to there house and eating dinner and disussing the child's progress. Well we have a student that lives an hour away so if we did that the parents wouldn't get home until way late! We said we would spend the night and she also wanted to take us to an onyx factory and an old cathedral.
We got up and headed on our way! The onyx was gorgeous and if I could have taken pictures I would have. Then we went to the cathedral. We pulled up and this is what I saw...
The pictures can not even show how gorgeous this place was. Then the students dad tells me they rent it out for weddings! Right then I decided I was having my reception there! With him not being LDS he is explaining where the priest and everyone would be and I keep thinking man this would be awesome with lights and dancing and everything! So needless to say I was deciding which temple was the closest to here and now I will have to get married in Mexico so I can have my reception here!

Haircut...
I got my haircut at the salon the other day. Lets just say if I spoke Spanish it would have gone better. I had one of the host moms fix it a bit and I put some gel in it. Now it looks more normal than before.

Tengo La Camisa Negra...
Here we are at the JUANES concert!!! We actually had really good seats. We were in the front section of the cheap seats! But we had a really good view. The only thing that sucked was the lady behind us kept telling us to sit down. I was thinking dude it is a concert if you can't see then sit down!
So I snuck my camera in my bra because I knew they wouldn't check there! So while we were dancing our hearts out I didn't want to hold the shirts we bought and I didn't want to loose them, so what did I do with them? You guessed it I put them in my bra. We thought it was funny so we took a picture but to me it just looks like I have big boobs. Well you can decide!
All in all it was an amazing concert!! I was so glad that we were able to go and it was totally amazing!! The only thing that would have made it better is if I wasn't sick! But, I am feeling better so that is always good news!

Cholula, Mexico
Well guys I made it... It has been a very interesting couple of days. As we have started to set things up we realize what we don't have. Class starts tommorrow and I hope we have enough stuff to get the school going. Today we had church and it was really interesting to listen to everything in Spanish. They would ask me a question and I would respond with "no comprende" and they would all laugh. All I have to say is I had better learn Spanish quick. Tonight me and another teacher Alison along with our coordinators brother went to this institute open house thing. It actually was kindof fun. I just wish people knew how to at least not point when they talked. Esteban (our escort) thought it was real funny and kept saying they were looking at him. It was funny. But, I guess now we have tickets to some dance on Friday but I don't know if we should go or not, and I also believe they are starting an ENglish institute class for us. That would be nice. From this adventure I did gain a Book of Mormon in Spanish so maybe I can teach myself. I mean I have a lot of time on my hands at night. Also, I just realized that I left my camera cords in Utah so I don't know if I can post pictures. Maybe if my mom loves me enough we can get her to send it to me! Also, comment me or send me your email address if you want to get on my weekly emails! Hopefully pictures soon!

It's Coming.... Too Fast
Thanks to everyone that came to the party! It was fun to see everyone and say goodbye one last time. I leave Thursday morning at 5:30! Ya that is AM. Pray for me that we can all get there and have everything run smoothly. I don't know what I am doing and I don't think I can deal with a crisis on the first day! Hopefully, I will be able to blog about that first day!

~Adios Fiesta~
If I haven't caught you on Facebook and told you about the party here is the scoop. Lisa and I are having a goodbye party. Lisa is going to Russia and I Mexico. A Mexican fiesta is a lot easier to plan than a Russian party. So here you go..
Sunday August 10, 2008
5:00 PM dinner will start
Bring any Mexican dish you would like. This can be a main dish, side dish, dessert or whatever you want.
It is at mine and Lisa's house
676 East 150 South
Kaysville, Utah 84037
*If you would like you can park in the church behind the house and walk through the church yard to our back yard. It may be faster than parking on the street.
After dinner we will have a pinata and also watch the movie Three Amigos on the big screen. You are welcome to stay for that. Everyone is welcome. You can contact me or Lisa if you have any questions!

John Mayer
Last Monday night I went to the John Mayer concert at Usana. It was a beautiful night and it was so much fun being there and hearing the great music. Usana is such a fun place to have concerts.
