Thanksgiving!!

This year for Thanksgiving we invited all of the people we were thankful for to our Thanksgiving dinner. We had around 30 people come. It was a lot of fun to see everyone there. The food was pretty good but not nearly as good as the food we have at home! The turkey looked more like a ham than anything, and the stuffing was so saltly I couldn't even eat it. The potatoes turned out pretty good and of course the one time I make good gravy is now. The rolls were the biggest hit and they were gone first! It was fun to just hang out and it made the day of cooking worth it! Here are some pictures to show all of the fun we had. I have lots more pictures but it takes forever to load them and so this will have to do!

Of course we have us preparing the food! I got up around 8 and started the preparations! Everyone was a huge help and I know it wouldn't have gotten done without them!

A couple pictures of those that showed up! We had all of the kids eating in the hall while all of the adults were shoved into the opening room of the school!

And of course we have the finished food! We had a tossed salad, fruit salad, green beans, potates and gravy, rolls, stuffing and turkey(ham). To finish it off we had lots of pie! Pumpkin, strawberry, banana cream, and apple! I totally thought that the pie was the best part of the meal!

I can't wait until next Thanksgiving where I will be home and the food will taste right and I can help make the whole meal!

Thanksgiving Pies!

In preperation for the Thanksgiving we were going to have early (Nov 22 to be exact) we had to make pies. We ended up making 11 pies and I didn't even get pictures of the final product. We had tons of fun making them. We used my Grandma's amazing pie recipe so these pictures are for her.

When I was little I would help my Grandma make pie! She always gave us a piece of crust that we could do whatever we wanted with! Here is Rebecca and Tony playing with their piece of dough they snatched!

Oaxaca Temple

While we were in Oaxaca we were able to go do baptisms for the dead. It was an amazing experience to do that in a different country. It was all in Spanish and really fun to listen to!

Halloween with the Students

Alison taught the drama lesson for Halloween so all of the kids got dressed up and went trick-or-treating to the other classes. It was fun to see all of our kids dressed up and enjoying Halloween!

Halloween!

Sorry some of the pictures are sideways but I can't change them on this computer. This is what we dressed up as on Wednesday for the kids. Because we had vacation over Halloween we did it with the kids early. Also, I was not able to get the rest of the stuff for my costume so this had to do. I guess I would have scared the kids more. I mean me wearing spandex would just scare the crap out of me! So here I am with the Nacho Libre mask and cape! Hope you all enjoy.
